What's New with SU Podium for Google SketchUp

What's New January 11, 2011

1. SU Podium V2 - Windows 64 bit version

SU Podium V2 Windows 64 bit version has been released. This version will allow you to render larger SketchUp models that may have been impossible to render on a regular Windows 32 bit operating system. However, there are no rendering speed differences between the 64 bit and 32 bit versions. You must have a computer with a Windows 64 bit operating system for this version to work. You will need RAM memory of greater than 4gb to experience any performance differences. This Win 64 bit version will use all the memory that is available if required.

The Mac version of SU Podium V2 is already a 64 bit version.

The update is free for existing SU Podium V2 users. You will need your V2 license code so make sure you have it before installing. Also, it is a good idea to uninstall the previous version of SU Podium V2 before installing the Win 64 bit version. . To download click here. After installing V2 and activating the license, please restart SketchUp to get out of trial mode.

Trial version will be uploaded to the Evaluation page later this week.

3. EditInPlace free Beta3, extended until January 31, 2011 - edit your groups separately

EditInPlace is a Google SketchUp plugin that lets you edit (modify) components and groups in a separate Google SketchUp window. Furthermore, it overcomes one of Google SketchUp's biggest limitations - the clipping plane which prevents you from effectively editing small components in large models. EditInPlace is great to use with SU Podium as you can isolate groups and components and render them separately for the main model.

EditInPlace is in Beta and will expire on January 31, 2011. Please read about it and download from here.

4.PodiumWalker beta extended

PodiumWalker - the stand alone photo-realistic animation program, is still in Beta1 period but the beta expiration date has been extended to January 31, 2011. We feel confident that there Beta2 will be released this month. Take a look at PodiumWalker here.

5.FAQ update: How to control sun/sky brightness.

How do I control the environment's overall brightness? Why do I get textures that render black? Check out the answers to these and many more questions on the FAQ page. PodiumWalker here.

There is a new pricing policy for education customers who want to add additional licenses to their 25 Lab License bundle. You can now purchase as few or as many licenses you need above the 25 minimum easily. Please take a look at the Education Lab category on the SUPlugins web store.
